Men Glasses & Face Shapes

Posted under Glasses by admin on Friday 31 July 2009 at 4:19 am

Nowadays, glasses have become an indispensable fashion item of fashion men; you may not neglect lenses, to select a frame suitable for yourself is enough! The spectacle eyeglass frames which have a brand design are generally not too bad, but the most important thing is to choose your own appropriate frame. The “appropriate” includes: comfort, lenses strength (thickness), your job (whether there is intense movement or not), skin tone, face shape and even hair style and your beard.

In general, glasses frames have many different forms and styles, which can be, on the whole, separated into three categories: full frame, sub-frame, and rimless. Their shapes include pear-shaped, droplet-shaped, oval, egg, square shape or polygon, etc. which are basically evolved from the square and round.

In the choice of men glasses, try to avoid selecting frames that are too much similar with your face, so as not to over-emphasize the lines of your face.

If your face is square-shaped, you should choose wider frame, so that your face will appear slightly more slender.

If your face is round-shaped, the frame with an angle or quadrate frame will be conducive to the modification of your facial lines.

As you know, face shapes determine the shape of frames. First of all, please carefully observe your face, and take a look at where is higher and where is more flat. When in the choice of frames, you would face the opposite situation. For instance, a very round face may not be suitable for wearing round glasses.

You may as well try on various frames on yourself. By doing so, you may be able to find a surprise as a result.

In general, there are two types of colors: orange-based warm colors and blue-based cool colors. The majority of people would like to choose the frames that are in consistent with their skin tones. Those with darker complexions had better choose the darker frames, such as bright red and black ones, but fairer-skinned people shall choose light color frames, such as silver and soft pink. Generally speaking, to choose suitable glasses color rests on what your skin tone is.

As a rule, men glasses are often made of common metal alloy, high-nickel alloy metal frame, lightweight titanium or titanium alloy metal frame, ordinary plastic injection molding frame, sheet plastic frame, carbon frame and metal-plastic hybrid frame. All these frames with different materials have different characteristics. For instance, although high-nickel alloy metal frame is cheap and has a high flexibility, some men are prone to be allergy when wearing such material frames. Thus, when men choose frames, their materials also need to be taken into consideration in case that they are not suitable for some people.

In a word, in the choice of men eyeglasses, every factor should be considered carefully, not only the face shape, skin tone, but the specific time, occasion, hair and beard and even the age.
